It's all minutiae.


I used the word minutiae completely wrong in a tutorial the other day.
And the student knew it, too.

I realized my gaffe as soon as I said it, but the kid immediately asked with a mocking smile, "Minutiae?"

In fact, I had meant the exact opposite of the word, but my brain got confused.

Dang it.

I hate it when that happens.

Once I thought that the word convoluted described something that comes to be naturally...so I used it when talking about someone's relationship.

And then I felt very stupid.
